To Your Eternity: where to start and where the anime stands
Three seasons have aired and no fourth has been announced. Here is where to start and what the sources say.
What it is
To Your Eternity begins with an immortal orb that can copy the shape of whatever it meets. Over time it becomes a rock, a wolf and then a boy named Fushi, and he learns what it means to be a person from the people who are kind to him, and from losing them. An enemy called the Nokker keeps getting in the way.1
It is based on the manga by Yoshitoki Ōima, according to Anime News Network’s entry.4 Season 3 is animated by Drive and STUDIO MASSKET.1
Why it matters now
Season 3, the Present World arc, premiered in Japan on October 4, 2025 on NHK General, with Crunchyroll simulcasting it.13 NHK’s own site announces the Present World arc as the season’s story.5 It aired on Saturday nights at 11:45 p.m. JST.1 NHK paused the broadcast for a month after episode 16 because of its coverage of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, and resumed with episode 17 on February 28, 2026.3
Crunchyroll News introduced the final stretch with the words “the beginning of the end of Fushi’s journey in the modern world.”3 As of October 13, 2026 we found no announcement of a fourth season, in the Crunchyroll News and Anime News Network pages we read.
Who it is for
It is for people who like a patient story about growing into a person through meetings and losses. It is not a light watch: the series is built around partings.1
Start with season 1. In season 3, according to Anime News Network, Fushi lives peacefully in the modern era after completing his mission centuries earlier,4 so it is not a place to begin. The same page says threats return as he learns the true goals of his creator, the Beholder, and the time approaches for him to make the ultimate decision.4
What makes it different
The lead is an unusual one. Fushi starts as an orb that copies whatever it meets, and everything he knows about being a person he learns from other people.1
The creative team stayed steady across seasons. Shinzo Fujita on series composition, Koji Yabuno on character design, Ryo Kawasaki on music and Takeshi Takadera as sound director all return for season 3, while Sota Yokote directs and Kiyoko Sayama, who directed season 2, becomes chief director.1 The opening is by Perfume, and Masashi Hamauzu composes the ending theme, continuing from “Mediator” in season 1 and “Roots” in season 2.12 Shizuka Ito, Shinichiro Miki, Rumi Okubo and Tasuku Hatanaka joined the cast for season 3.2
The one thing to watch for
Watch how you feel about an open question. Season 3 is called the Present World arc,1 and we could not confirm from an official source whether the rest of the manga’s story is planned for the screen, so do not assume more is coming.

Our take: worth your time if you like patient stories about loss and growth, and a good one to start now because three seasons have aired.
Time well spent: three seasons is a real commitment, and the series is not light, so choose a stretch when you can give it your attention. If the first few episodes do not move you, it is fine to stop.
Stories about loss are easier to carry with other people. The forum is open if you want to talk about a season without spoiling the next.
For anyone who makes things, Fushi is a lesson in building a character from a blank. Everything he becomes is learned from the people he meets.
It often feels sad in the moment and generous afterwards. Let that settle before you judge it.
Credit to Crunchyroll for carrying the earlier seasons in sub and dub, and for explaining the Olympic broadcast pause so viewers knew why episodes stopped.13
